The research center STC (Sensible Things that Communicate is looking for a postdoc for the research project SMART– Smart systems and services. The research is conducted in collaboration with industrial partners in a large project that integrates the technology challenges within the fields of smart systems and services in the application areas of industrial sensors.

The successful applicant will be a part of the research group Wireless Sensor Systems, where s/he will actively collaborate with other researchers in the SMART project, as well as with researchers at the department.

Job description: The research project will give the successful applicant the opportunity to be a part of a larger research group that connects “energy harvesting” challenges with various applications in sensor systems. Examples of challenges that the position could focus on are modelling of energy harvesting systems, design and optimization of energy harvester devices, and application-specific problems in industrial environments.

The postdoc position involves modelling and experimental work such as prototype development and characterization in lab and industrial environments.

Requirements and assessment: To qualify for the position the applicant must hold a PhD degree, or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a PhD. The degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application date, however, periods of sick leave or parental leave and similar are deducted from the three-year period.

For this position, a PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Physics is required.

Employment: One-year full-time position, with a possible one year extension.
