Mid Sweden University is a place where people meet, find inspiration and think innovatively. Our campuses are situated in Sundsvall and Östersund, and we offer a wide range of courses and education, both on-campus and distance education. Our good relations with society ensure well-supported research and education, not least in the region.
Faculty of Human Sciences
The Department of Humanities is located at Campus Sundsvall. The department conducts research and offers more than 70 different courses in History, Comparative Literature, English, Spanish, Swedish and Religious Studies
The Department of Humanities is a multidisciplinary department. The subject of English awards qualifications at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD levels. The courses offered include freestanding courses at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, a one-year Master’s programme, courses included in the teacher training programmes, and PhD courses.
Duties: The main duties include teaching of freestanding courses and courses included in the teacher training programmes (from primary to upper secondary level), supervision, and course development, all with a specialization in literature.
Eligibility: Applicants are required to have a PhD in English Literature and must be able to demonstrate scientific as well as pedagogical expertise in the subject. A good knowledge of Swedish is also required. As the duties include teaching courses in the teacher training programme, subject-didactic qualifications are an advantage, especially regarding courses for teachers of the younger age-groups. Included in the duties is undergraduate campus teaching. In addition, many of our courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels are internet-based distance courses; therefore experience in web-based teaching is also an advantage. An active contribution to the subject’s research and working environment is expected, which requires physical presence at the workplace.
Information: Further information is available from Head of English, Terry Walker, tel. +46 (0)76-232 52 16, email@example.com, Director of Studies, Martin Shaw, tel. +46 (0)72-506 58 33, firstname.lastname@example.org, and Head of Department, Tomas Berglund, tel. +46 (0)10-142 81 65, email@example.com.
