Junior Researcher Position – Quality Assessment of 3D Virtual and Augmented Reality
The research group Realistic 3D (Multidimensional Signal Processing and Imaging – www.miun.se/stc/realistic3d), which is a part of the STC Research Centre (Sensible Things that Communicate – www.miun.se/stc), is looking for a junior researcher in Quality Assessment of 3D Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality for the project Quality of Experience for Augmented Telepresence. (www.miun.se/stc/QoEAT). The project integrates technology challenges in the fields of Telepresence and Augmented Reality in the application area of industrial remote operation, in particular considering assessment of such systems. The successful applicant will collaborate with researchers and industrial partners within the project as well as with other researchers at the department. Part of the research will be carried out at the collaborating parties’ facilities.
As a junior researcher, you will assist senior researchers to conduct original research in the area of Quality Assessment of Computer Graphics, Augmented Reality, and Telepresence. The job includes assisting in theoretical analysis, practical experiments, algorithm design and software implementation, as well as documentation in the form of scientific articles and reports. Teaching and writing research applications may be included at a level not exceeding 20%.
To qualify for this employment as junior researcher, applicants must hold a degree Master of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related subject, or foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a Master of Science. Experience of quality assessments, 3D Computer Graphics, Augmented Reality, or Telepresence is considered an additional qualification, as well as a strong mathematical background and experience of research.
Salary: Salary is determined on an individual basis.
Terms of employment: 3-6 months full-time, entry according to agreement.
