Mid Sweden University is looking for a Performance Engineer at the Swedish Winter Sports Research Centre.

Description: The EU-project "Center of Health Innovation - Home of Internet of Sports develops a new test and demo environment - Alpine Center of Excellence - in Sweden's national arena for alpine skiing, Åre, together with Ski Team Alpine Sweden. This will be a leading R & D unit in sports and outdoor for open and pioneering innovations. This is an excellent gateway to your future engineering career if you are passionate about technology and have an interest, creativity and courage to shape the products and services that in demand, but not yet created. 

Duties: Are you open and innovative? The position suits you who want to perform and work in a technical and dynamic R & D environment in sports and outdoors. You should be creative and technically curious. 

We are looking for a performance engineer in electronics and computer engineering. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with product development, sensor technology, programming (eg app development) and data analysis in collaboration with international research competencies in sports and technology, students, some of Sweden's top elite athletes and coaches and also participating companies. Research is needed. We are looking for a creative person who is structured and results driven, who like to solve complex problems and set high goals for good delivery. You need great communication skills and leadership skills. You will mainly work in the attractive village of Åre. This is Scandinavia's leading ski resort and an exciting area under strong development during summer and autumn for activities like adventure sports, running, mountain biking and mountain hiking.

Qualifications: Experience in working with product development (preferably towards the sports industry), sensors and app-development. Previous experience with biomechanics (preferably in sports) and / or Sports Technology / Engineering is an added bonus.

Language: English and Swedish, or alternatively, the desire to learn Swedish.

Employment and Access: Fixed-term employment 2 years (1 + 1) with 3-month probationary employment. (February 1, 2018 - December 30, 2019).

Place of employment: Östersund, position is located in Åre.

Salary: Monthly salary. Individual payroll is applied.
